Sunday Service of Worship

OUR CALL TO WORSHIP:
Let us join our hearts, minds, and voices in praise of our God! For it is the Lord who blesses us and brings us to wholeness. It is the Lord who leads us through life’s rough places with steadfast love and mercy. For these reasons, we enter this worship experience together with gratitude and joy!

Nearer, My God to Thee

OUR PRAYER OF CONFESSION:
O Lord our God, we celebrate the new life you have given us. We are grateful for the possibilities and purposes you have placed before us. Yet we admit there are times when we have allowed doubt to overcome hope, and cynicism to replace dedication. Forgive us for allowing the world’s values to be more important to us than your priorities. Help us to let go of the past, so we can move joyfully into a future that points to your love and justice. In Christ’s name we ask it,  Amen.

OUR ASSURANCE OF PARDON: :    (Based on John 3:16)
God loved the world so much, that the Son was sent, so that whoever believes in Him, would not perish, but have life everlasting. God sent the Son into the world, not to condemn, but to save. In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Thanks be to God!

AN AFFIRMATION OF OUR FAITH:
“In sovereign love, the Lord made this world, calling it good, and creating  everyone equal in God’s image, male and female, of every race and people, to live in one community.”

A BENEDICTION TO TAKE WITH YOU THIS WEEK:
And now, may the Lord God Almighty prepare you as you walk through these coming days. May Jesus the Son guide each of your steps along the pathways you choose. And may the presence of the Holy Spirit strengthen you, watch over you, and grant you peace.
