OUR CALL TO WORSHIP:
Let us trust in God and learn to honor the ways of our Lord, for faith leads us to strength, and obedience leads us to wisdom. We receive the gifts of God with thanksgiving, as we learn to serve our Lord with gladness, knowing that our service leads us to fulfillment and our worship leads us to growth in the Spirit.
OUR PRAYER OF CONFESSION:
Eternal God, we come as we are – with our feelings of failure, with our frustrations, with our guilt, with our loneliness, and with our alienation. Help us to sort out the tangled problems of our lives, until we can see them more clearly. Help us to see beneath our symptoms to the causes. Then, O Lord, give us the strength we need to make the changes that will remove our destructive attitudes and actions. During this time of worship together, make us receptive to new inspiration, new influence, and new understanding. In the name of Jesus Christ we ask these things, Amen.
OUR ASSURANCE OF PARDON:
Through grace and forgiveness, God constantly frees us, and presents us each day with new opportunities for change. We thank God for this kind of forgiveness, for the promise of new beginnings, and for the outpouring of love that is ours to share with others.
AN AFFIRMATION OF FAITH:
“The life, death, resurrection, and promised coming of Jesus Christ have set the pattern for the Church’s mission. His human life involves the Church in the common life of all people. His service to men and women commits the Church to work for every form of human well-being. His suffering makes the Church sensitive to all human suffering, so that it sees the face of Christ in the faces of persons in every kind of need. His crucifixion discloses God’s judgment on the inhumanity that marks human relations, and the awful consequences of the Church’s own complicity in injustice. In the power of the risen Christ and the hope of His coming, the Church sees the promise of God’s renewal of human life in society and of God’s victory over all wrong “

A BENEDICTION TO TAKE WITH YOU THIS WEEK:
Clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and above all, love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, for whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the His name, as you give thanks to God through Him.
