Sunday Service of Worship

OUR CALL TO WORSHIP:
We come to this time and place so that we might continue our journey on the Road of Faith. Faith is something in which we grow every day of our lives. It is a continual process of life. So we come to pray, to listen, and to learn. We come to grow in understanding and in depth. We come to have fellowship with God. We come to transform our way of living.

Take My Life

OUR PRAYER OF CONFESSION:
Lord God, we admit that we sometimes tend to be selfish. We enjoy being the center of our own little worlds, apart from others, taking credit for ideas we never had and for achievements we never accomplished. Help us to see that as part of the Body of Christ, we are all recipients of gifts we do not deserve and of grace we never can earn. Then, turn us outward, so that we might pass on to others our commitment, our ministry, our caring, and our love. In Jesus’ name we ask these things.  Amen.

OUR ASSURANCE OF PARDON:
The Gospel says we are forgiven and this is Good News indeed! It means we can continue our Journey of Faith with an entirely new frame of mind, for we are renewed and refreshed by God’s mercy and healing.

A REAFFIRMATION OF OUR FAITH:
“God’s love is revealed in Jesus Christ by showing power in the form of a servant, wisdom in the folly of the cross, and goodness in receiving sinful people. The power of God’s love in Christ to transform the world discloses that the Redeemer is the Lord and Creator who made all things to serve the purpose of His love.”

A BENEDICTION TO TAKE WITH YOU THIS WEEK:
May the Eternal God, by whose power we are created and by whose love we are redeemed, guide and strengthen us by the Spirit, so that we may give ourselves in service to others, and live this week in love for one another.  Through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
