Sunday Service of Worship

OUR CALL TO WORSHIP:
Let us worship God, the Source of every blessing! As the Psalmist wrote long ago: “O come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into God’s presence with thanksgiving and with our songs of praise.”   (Psalm 95:1-2, adapted)

Come Sing, O Church, in Joy!

OUR PRAYER OF CONFESSION:
Merciful God, your care never ceases. We are tired from trying to do more than we can manage. We are anxious about problems that go unresolved. We are worried about events beyond our control.

For mistakes we cannot redeem, for tasks left undone, and  for uncertain goals, we need your forgiveness and we ask for your understanding. For the recovery of our strength and enthusiasm, we pray for your Spirit. For fullness of life, generous hearts, and contented souls, we pray to be true followers of Jesus the Christ. In His name we pray, Amen.

OUR ASSURANCE OF PARDON:
We speak and God has listened to us. Let us now listen to what God would have us hear. For the Gospel says we are forgiven, healed, and made whole once again. Let us hear these words and believe them, for they offer us a new life and a new way of living.

AN AFFIRMATION OF OUR FAITH:
“Let the heavens be glad. Let the earth rejoice. Let the people of all nations exult in the Lord’s reign.  May the seas roar and the fields revel.  All will sing before the Lord, who judges the earth with kindness and whose love endures forever.”        (Adapted from 1 Chronicles 16:31-33 and Psalm 96:11-13.)
