OUR CALL TO WORSHIP:
God’s mighty acts in the world are well-known.
This makes us a people of history
God’s redemption is best seen in Jesus Christ.
This makes us a people of faith.
God’s salvation strengthens us to change the world.
This makes us a people of prayer, praise, and action.
God comes to us now, regardless of where we may be.
This makes us ready to worship, bringing our thanks to
God for what we have been given, for what we are, and
for what we may yet become.
OUR PRAYER OF CONFESSION:
O God, we come gladly to this time of worship, but despite our joyfulness, we admit we do not always accept your lordship over our lives.
So we ask you to:
Help us to seek with our eyes, that we might find the truth.
Help us to ask with our minds, to probe the answers of life.
Help us to knock with our hands, on doors of need around us.
In all these ways, may our words and our actions truly
honor the Faith that we represent in the world. In the
name of Jesus Christ we ask it, Amen.
OUR ASSURANCE OF PARDON:
Our Lord is a God of mercy who accepts us as we are and who continually holds out a full measure of forgiveness. Knowing this, we are free to reach out to one another in sympathy, acceptance, joy, and love.
AN AFFIRMATION OF OUR FAITH:
“For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.”
(Romans 12:4-5, the New International Version)
A BENEDICTION TO TAKE WITH YOU THIS WEEK:
As this time of our worshiping together comes to an end,
As we become members of the Body of Christ in the world,
May Love be the power behind our living this week.
May our actions demonstrate this Love for others.
May our lives be filled with the peace this Love brings.
In the name of the Creator, the Christ, and the Spirit. Amen.
